The Portable Calibrator 2000 is meant for re-calibrating in the field of ergometers.

The Calibrator 2000 is a portable unit, easy to install and convenient to work with. Two different types of crank adapters and filling blocks for height adjustment are delivered with the Calibrator to make connection possible for a wide variety of ergometers. The ergometer is connected to the Calibrator with an intermediate shaft axis with two universal joints. The Calibrator is controlled from a PC over a RS232 line. The data can be stored and printed from the PC.

The Calibrator's main components are:
An electromotor, a servo-unit, a control unit and a torque sensor. Control is performed by the externeal connected PC which communicates with an on-board microcontroller performing the user actions. From the PC the RPM is specified and sent to the control-unit. The microcontroller manages the adjusted RPM and measures the torque value. Each rotation 400 torque measurements are carried out for highest dynamic performance. These measurements are averaged and can be readout by the PC. On the PC the user can specify the number of rotations over which the power measurements are averaged before displaying. For highest accuracy an offset correction is carried out before each ergometer calibration.

The measured data can be stored in a pre-defined calibration report in German or English, containing customer and ergometer data as well as the date of calibration. This gives the user also the possibility to create his own backup of the calibrations.

The Calibrator has a second serial port and an analog port to which Lode (or Lode compatible) ergometers can be connected to make automatic calibr ation possible. All other ergometers are calibrated in the manual mode.

The serial ports of the Calibrator are galvanical isolated.

An emergency button is on top to stop the Calibrator immediately for safety reasons.
