| MRI Ergometer Spectroscopy: |
|
|
| The technology of MRI provides valuable, noninvasive information about the body’s tissue compartments. With MRI, electromagnetic radiation in the presence of
a strong magnetic field is used to excite the hydrogen nuclei of the body’s water and lipid molecules. This causes the nuclei to give off a detectable signal that
can then be rearranged under computer control to visually represent the various body tissues. Spectroscopy in the MRI scanner during physiological exercise is now possible with the newly developed Lode MRI Spectroscopy Ergometer. In vivo biochemical analysis!! You can expect that such research will give amazing opportunities in a broad medical field. The Lode MRI Ergometer is a MR compatible * ergometer which allows physiological exerci-se testing with the major upper leg muscle. Due to the mounting instruction and dimensions of the tunnel the movements are different for the different MRI scanners (real pedal-, up/down- and horizontal movements) Now you can use an electromagenetically braked ergometer in the magnet without interference on the MRI procedures. And you will obtain proper MR images during exercise with heart rates above 100 bpm. The Lode MRI Spectroscopy Ergometer meets the following necessary physiological requirements:
Controlled increase in cardiac output and myocardial oxygen demand Stepwise and lineair increments and decrements of power and heart rate Individual preference of pedaling rate (with the well known Lode Workload Programmer, see other Lode products). Drawing Siemens, Philips, GE on request |
