For eye plaque and solid tumor applications
 The I-Plant Model 3500 125Iodine seed is now available in high activities for eye plaque and other solid tumor applications. This seed shares all the same characteristics as the I-Plant seed commonly used in the treatment of prostate cancer. For this reason, you can trust that the dosimetry¹ and imaging quality will be the same as you have come to expect from the I-Plant product. Seeds are available in a wide range of apparent activity levels up to 4.0 mCi (5.08 µGy m2/hr).
Using ion implantation to manufacture the I-Plant seed, Implant Sciences’ patented “dry” manufacturing process uses no wet chemical fabrication. The seed cores can be safely inventoried in large quantities. Once “activated,” cores are then sealed in a titanium capsule (see below). This “Just-in-Time” method of manufacturing ensures prompt delivery of a time-sensitive product.
In addition to reliable delivery, this unique manufacturing process produces a more consistent and reliable seed. Each seed shows greater consistency, as well as less dose drop-off at the ends. This results in a more uniform dose distribution around the entire seed. |
