 This unique 120-seed drum cartridge (patent pending) is designed to replace the standard Mick® reusable or disposable seed cartridges. It provides a non-jamming, shielded cartridge that holds up to 120 seeds, with an indicator that displays the total number of seeds.
The cartridge has been designed with a stainless steel outer drum housing that accepts a disposable plastic drum insert which contains up to 120 seeds. Upon receipt of your I-Plant™ seed order, the plastic insert is loaded to prescription with assayed seeds and inserted in the stainless steel housing, sterilized, sealed in a vacuum pouch, and then placed in a shipping container along with a seed assay report. Upon arrival at your facility, the sterilized cartridge is removed from the sealed pouch in the O.R. The cartridge is then inserted into the Mick Applicator for the implant procedure.
After the procedure, if there are unused seeds, they can be removed from the cartridge quickly and safely using a device supplied with the system. This same device can also be used to load seeds into the cartridge. After the cartridge is empty, it is shipped back to MED-TEC for reloading.
