 Virtual Water, a true water-equivalent material exclusively from MED-TEC, is a refreshing alternative to water tanks and other water-equivalent materials. This water-equivalent phantom eliminates mass and maintains your ability to perform routine quality control checks of your linear accelerator. Unlike other water-equivalents, Virtual Water is free of contaminants and air. The electron density and homogeneity is guaranteed. Each production run of Virtual Water is tested in an independent calibration lab and certified to be within 0.5% of water at photon energies.
 Virtual Water is available in 20cm x 20cm, 30cm x 30cm, and 40cm x 40cm sizes, and in thicknesses that range from 0.2cm to 6.0cm. Cavities are available in thicknesses of 2.0cm or greater and accommodate many commercially-available farmer-type or parallel plate ionization chambers.
The phantom’s rigid design eliminates the potential for chamber damage. This unique phantom material will not stick together when stacked or stored. Virtual Water’s performance is not affected by changes in humidity or ambient temperature.
Virtual Water eliminates charge buildup. The material does not exhibit charge storage effects, seen in common water-equivalent phantoms.
