The Bleeper is a simple and handy pocket radiation monitor. The wide range of 45keV to 6MeV make it ideally suited for a variety of conditions where radiation may be present and pose a hazard to nearby personnel.
With its clearly-audible warning of dose rate and display of total dose received, it is the ideal instrument for safeguarding personnel against the hazards of X-ray and Gamma radiation.
The Bleeper easily fits into a shirt pocket or clips onto a belt. There are no controls, except for the on-off switch, which also resets the display to zero.
The clearly visible LCD display provides a visual indication of cumulative dose received, and the “bleep” sounds every 15 to 30 minutes to indicate background radiation. The bleep rate increases with the amount of radiation detected, ending with a continuous sound at higher radiation levels – one bleep every 20 seconds at 1mR/h, becoming continuous above 100mR/h. Three alkaline batteries provide power for over one full year.
