Therapy treatments in the pelvic area often utilize fields with very small margins. This makes accurate patient positioning and effective immobilization essential. An accurate patient setup that is reproducible throughout the entire course of treatment can only be achieved with the right choice of equipment. Sinmed offers a variety of products that can be used when treating patients in either supine or prone position.

The Kneefix and Feetfix cushions were specifically designed to facilitate a comfortable position for a patient on a flat rigid surface while maintaining proper alignment of the hips, knees and feet. Both cushion types have integrated handgrips and are made of durable lightweight foam for easy handling and cleaning. The Feetfix can be indexed to any couch top via the Feetfix Couch Support which allows the Feetfix cushion to be tilted in four different angles.

The Combifix system combines the Kneefix and Feetfix and is used for immobilization of patients that are treated in the pelvic area.

Sinmed's carbon fiber Bellyboard was developed to reduce the volume of irradiated small bowel for gynecological patients undergoing treatment in the pelvic region. The Sinmed Bellyboard is radiotransparent, lightweight and rigid. It can be indexed to any couch top with the optional fixation brackets.

The Multifix is a new development that allows arm and necks to be fixed, using small thermoplastic precuts.

The Posifix-12 system includes a carbon fiber baseplate that allows the patient to be properly positioned and immobilized with a Posicast mask. The baseplate has negligible beam attenuation and a minimal build-up effect. It can be easily indexed to any couch top with the optional fixation brackets.
