In radiotherapy, it is crucial to have a stable and reliable setup throughout the total course of a patient's treatment. The Sinmed carbon fiber couch tops and accessories were designed to eliminate the sag and other variations that can sometimes occur during setup with standard couch tops.

The Mastercouch is a perfect example of customer driven innovation. Modern radiotherapy treatment techniques have led to the development of this unique modular couch top concept, that allows an extensive range of possible gantry - table rotations. Only high end carbon fiber composites are used in the entire treatment area so attenuation and build-up effect are kept at an absolute minimum.

The Unicouch is a carbon fiber couch top with optimized dosimetric properties that can easily be mounted onto the pedestal of linear accelerators or simulators. Unlike standard treatment couch tops, the Unicouch only contains metal parts at the top end where the extension plate is mounted.

CT scanners are generally equipped with concave cradles for traditional diagnostic studies. To overcome the problems caused by the difference in geometry between concave cradles and flat simulator or linear accelerator couch tops, Sinmed has developed a removable flat carbon fiber CT couch top. The Sinmed carbon fiber CT couch tops are extremely lightweight and available for most CT scanner couch types.

Tennis racket inserts or foils are the standard supplied with most linear accelerators. These types can sag with larger patients and over time as they age. Sinmed carbon fiber couch inserts provide a uniform rigidity across the insert that minimizes sagging, even with very large patients. The inserts are made of specific fiber and core materials to ensure minimal effect on the delivered dose.
