'For IMRT, the Mastercouch results in a clear geometric advantage for isocentre positions in the upper part of the body. The largest advantage is seen above the diaphragm and is most pronounced when using the Ω-shaped head and neck module due to its intrinsic shape.

This leads to a significantly extended range of combined gantry-table rotations for IMRT of cerebrum, nasopharynx, larynx and mediastinum. ‘
