- The use of low temperature thermoplastics has become a daily routine for many professionals in radiotherapy centers all over the world.
- The possibilities with these materials are endless and most effective in combination with the right equipment.
|
| |
- Through joint cooperation, Sinmed and a major thermoplastics manufacturer have developed a line of exclusive thermoplastics with special characteristics,
all of which were specifically designed for use during the most complex clinical routines in radiotherapy.
|
| |
- Sinmed offers a wide variety of thermoplastic precuts for immobilization of patients undergoing treatments of the head and neck, breast, thorax,
pelvic region and extremities.
- After being immersed in a hot water bath, the thermoplastics can be easily moulded to form a mask directly on the patient's skin.
- All our thermoplastic material types are covered with a coating that will not stick to the skin or hair. It is used in combination with Posifix
positioning systems for ultimate precision or with other makes of head holders.
- The patient is immobilized by snapping the Posicast thermoplastic mask onto the baseplate with quick fasteners.
- This allows the technician to mould the mask perfectly around the facial contours of the patient.

- One feature of all thermoplastics is the inherent elastic memory. This allows the material to be re-moulded.
- It also contributes to some additional shrinkage once the material has been moulded. The exclusive line of Posicast thermoplastics goes one
step further. Its elastic memory will allow you to remake a mask if the original fit is not adequate or the patient's contours change during the
course of treatment but shrinkage will be the absolute minimum.
- This assures a reliably stable and comfortable mask throughout the entire treatment.
